Frequently asked questions

Why do some portals require exactly 100KB?
Portals like CursusUp, DGSN, and many other Moroccan concours and government sites enforce a strict 100KB cap on ID/identity photos to keep their systems fast and predictable across huge numbers of applicants. It's not a soft guideline — files over the limit are rejected outright, so hitting the number exactly matters.
Will compressing to 100KB reduce image quality noticeably?
We binary-search the highest JPEG quality that fits your target, and only downscale dimensions as a last resort. At 100KB most portrait-style ID photos stay clearly legible; very high-detail or high-resolution originals may show mild softening.
What file formats does this accept?
JPEG, PNG and WebP as input. Output is JPEG (PNG transparency is composited onto white).
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. All compression happens in your browser via WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device.
Is it really free?
Yes — no account, no watermark, no limit on the number of files.
